Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of an arson with intent to endanger life in Crossgar on Thursday, 14th November.
It was reported that at around 1.15am a car was set alight the Manse Road area of the town, which quickly spread to an occupied caravan, causing extensive damage.
No injuries were reported, however the resident was left badly shaken.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information including dash-cam, mobile or CCTV footage of the area or who may have witnessed suspicious activity during this time are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 68 14/11/24.
