A 27-year-old man was sentenced for blackmail at Antrim Crown Court on Thursday 11th December.

Jordan McKeever, from Limavady was sentenced to 4 years in total, 2 of which to be served in custody and 2 to be served on license. A 4 year restraining order was also granted in respect to the victim.

Detective Inspector Lavery said: “The sentence passed down today to Mr McKeever relates to his role in blackmailing a vulnerable woman between January 2023 and April 2024.

“Mr. McKeever was in possession of intimate images of the victim, he used these to blackmail her out of a large sum of money.

“It was a distressing ordeal for the woman involved and she was left feeling intimidated and extremely scared. I hope today’s sentencing provides some reassurance to her and to the public.
