Detectives are appealing for information following two reported burglaries in east Belfast on Friday, 6th February.

Detective Sergeant Long said: “The first burglary is believed to have occurred at some point between 12.30pm on Thursday 5th February and 9.00am on Friday 6th February, when the Barnetts Road property was unoccupied.

"A rear door had been damaged and the property ransacked. We know a sum of cash was missing and are working to establish if anything else has been taken.

"The second burglary was reported in Gortin Park just after 10am on Friday 6th February and we believe it occurred at some point overnight. A door at the rear of the property had been smashed and the property ransacked. At this time, we don't believe that anything has been taken.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are exploring a potential link between the two burglaries, given their close proximity to one another.

"We would appeal to anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area to contact us on 101, quoting reference 313 06/02/26.

"We would also ask local residents to check their CCTV or doorbell footage."
