A 29-year-old man was today, Thursday 9th April 2026, extradited from Germany to Northern Ireland. 

He is wanted to stand trial in Northern Ireland for one offence of robbery and one offence of possession of an offensive weapon.

The offences occurred in the Portrush area in November 2018. The male was granted bail at Antrim Crown Court on 29th March 2023 and failed to show up for his trial on 11th September 2023 when a warrant was issued for his arrest.  

The wanted male was arrested by Police in Essen, Germany on 22nd January 2026 on foot of an extradition warrant sought by detectives from Coleraine Criminal Investigation Department. Today, Thursday 9th April completed the extradition proceedings with his successful return to Northern Ireland.

He is expected to appear before Antrim Crown Court on Friday 10th April.
