Detectives investigating a report of an assault in the Main Street area of Portglenone on Saturday evening, 14th March have charged a man to court.

The 42-year-old has been charged with five counts of common assault, threatening or abusive behaviour, two counts of false imprisonment, domestic abuse offence, non-fatal strangulation or asphyxiation, and taking a motor vehicle without authority.

He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 16th March.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
