On Wednesday, 1st July a 44-year-old man was sentenced at Laganside Crown Court for attempted rape, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Jordan Frampton, from the north Belfast area, was handed a two-year custodial sentence, a five-year restraining order against the victim, and will spend an additional 12 months on licence.
Detective Chief Inspector Finlay from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Public Protection Branch said: “I would like to commend the victim in this case for her bravery in coming forward, and working closely with us on this investigation to bring Frampton before the courts to answer for his crimes.
“We recognise that it is incredibly difficult for victims of sexual assault to come forward. Please don’t hesitate to call us on 101 or 999 in case of emergency.
