Police investigating an assault in the Downs Road area of Newcastle on Friday afternoon, 19th September have charged a man to court.

The 51-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22nd September.

As is usual procedure, all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
