Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch investigating a drugs seizure alongside An Garda Síochána National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, as part of the Joint Agency Task Force, have charged a man to court.
The 53-year-old was arrested earlier today, Monday 27th April, after suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of £4 million was seized from a lorry at Larne Harbour.
He has been charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug, and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.
He has also been charged with having no driving licence and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
The man is due to appear before Antrim Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Tuesday 28th April.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
