Police received a report of the theft of alcohol from a store located on the Circular Road in Newtownards on Wednesday, 6th August and have arrested a man.
Sergeant McLaughlin said: “It was reported shortly before 3pm, that a man had entered the premises and took a quantity of alcohol before exiting the store and leaving the area in a vehicle parked outside.
“Officers responded to this report and located the man at his home shortly after, arresting him for theft. The man remains in custody at this time, assisting officers with their enquiries.
“Please be reminded, police take theft very seriously no matter the amount and our crime prevention officers will continue to work with local businesses to prevent further incidents happening.
