Detectives in Lisburn CID have arrested a 40-year-old man following a report of a burglary in the south Belfast area this morning, Thursday 11th July.
Detective Inspector Bell said: "We received a report at around 12.50am that a man had attempted to enter a house in the Windermere Road area, before entering a detached garage.
"When officers attended the suspect fled on foot but was detained a short time later, and arrested on suspicion of burglary. He remains in police custody at this time.
"Damage was caused to a garage window and door, and enquiries are ongoing to establish if anything was taken from the property."
