Detectives are appealing for information following a report of a burglary in south Belfast in the early hours of Friday, November 7.

Detective Inspector Keon said: "Shortly after 4am, it was reported that a man had gained entry to a house in the Lenaghan Crescent area via an upstairs window.

"He assaulted a male resident, who sustained a head injury, requiring hospital treatment. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

"The suspect, aged in his 20s, then barricaded himself in a room before being arrested by police on suspicion of burglary and common assault.

"He was also arrested on suspicion of assault on police, after he hit a police officer's head against a wall.

"He remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.

"Our investigation is ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone who may have information, including CCTV or other video footage, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 158 7/11/25."
