Police have made an arrest following a report of a robbery in Downpatrick yesterday evening, Wednesday 24th June.
Shortly before 6.45pm, it was reported that a man armed with a knife entered takeaway premises in the Irish Street area and demanded that a staff member open the till.
He made off with a sum of cash, leaving the staff member very shaken by the incident, but thankfully, not physically harmed.
Police subsequently arrested a man aged in his 40s on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.
