Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch have charged a man to court in relation to arson at Larne Leisure Centre on Wednesday, 11th June, 2025.

The 25-year-old is charged with arson, riotous behaviour and criminal damage. He was further reported to the Public Prosecution Service for conspiracy to commit arson being reckless as to endanger life.

He is due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 18th December.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A 32-year-old man, who was also arrested and released on bail in June of this year, has been reported to the Public Prosecution Service for the following offences – conspiracy to commit arson being reckless as to endanger life, riotous behaviour and assisting offenders as part of this investigation.
