Police in south Belfast have charged a man to court.

The man, aged 32, has been charged with a number of offences including possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence. 

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, 17th July.

The charges follow an incident in the Canterbury Street area in the early hours of Wednesday, 16th July. 

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
