A 38-year-old man has been charged with a number of driving offences in west and north Belfast including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, no insurance, fraudulent use of registration mark and several counts of failing to stop, remain and report where an accident has occurred causing injury and/or damage. 

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, 21st July.

The charges follow a police pursuit of a suspicious vehicle which started in the area of Broadway yesterday, Monday 20th July, taking in various areas of west and north Belfast. A number of vehicles were damaged in the Westlink, Crumlin Road and Ballysillan Road areas during the course of the pursuit.

A second man (40) arrested has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
