Police have charged a man to court following the discovery of suspected drugs and ammunition as a result of the search of a property in the Lisburn area yesterday evening, Saturday 24th January.

The man, aged 43, has been charged with possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances, possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances, possession of a Class A controlled drug, and possession of a Class C controlled drug.

He is expected to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday 26th January, 2026.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A second man aged in his 60, who was also arrested, has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
