A 37 year old man has been charged with explosives under suspicious circumstances, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of Class C Controlled drugs with intent to supply.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday 10th July. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges are in relation to the security alert which occurred at the Roosevelt Street area of south Belfast on Thursday 9th July.
A 37 year old woman also arrested was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
