Police are appealing for information after a caravan was set alight in Millisle in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 20th December.

A police spokesperson said: "Our colleagues at Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service notified us of the fire at a caravan park in the Ballywalter Road area at around 2.00am. 

"The van has been completely destroyed, and it's believed that ignition was deliberate. 

"Thankfully, no-one was injured and the fire was extinguished before it could spread.

"We would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area; or who may have CCTV, dashcam or other footage which could assist our investigation; to contact us on 101, quoting reference 226 20/12/25."
