Police have made two arrests following a burglary in Helen's Bay yesterday, Wednesday, 28th August.
Ards and North Down local policing Chief Inspector Stevenson said: “Just before 1.30pm, we received a report that a burglary had taken place in the Kathleen Avenue area of the village.
"Entry had been gained by smashing a rear door and the home, which had been unoccupied for an hour leading up to the time of report, was ransacked. A number of items were stolen.
“Shortly afterwards, our Auto Crime Team noted a suspicious vehicle on the Sydenham bypass. After deploying a pre-emptive stinger device, the vehicle was safely stopped and the two men on board arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary and handling stolen goods.
“The men, aged 33 and 36, were taken to custody, where they remain at this time.
"Our enquiries continue and we would appeal to anyone who may be able to assist with our investigation, or who may have relevant CCTV , dashcam or other footage to contact us on 101, quoting reference 747 of 28/08/24.”
