Detectives investigating an assault which occurred in the Strand Road area of Derry/Londonderry are appealing for information.
Detective Sergeant McKernan said “We were made aware of an altercation in the Strand Road area on Friday 3rd July, at around 7.35pm.
“On attending those involved were no longer in the area, however police have since been in contact with one man who sustained serious facial injuries during the incident.
“We would be keen to speak with some members of the public who intervened at the time of the altercation.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area on Friday night, 3rd July and saw what happened, or who has any information which may assist with our enquiries – including images or any video footage – to contact us using our witness appeal form at https://reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals, quoting reference 1391 of 03/07/26.”
