Police at Strand Road are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of an assault which was reported to have occurred in Derry / Londonderry at the weekend.
Sergeant Bennett said: “It was reported that sometime between 11pm on Friday 20th December, and 1.30am on Saturday 21st December, a man was assaulted in the Guildhall Square area.
“He sustained a facial injury and a laceration to the back of his head.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, or has any information which might assist, to get in touch.
“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 729 of 21/12/24.”
