Police in Bangor are investigating a number of reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage which have occurred in the city centre.
Chief Inspector Hutchinson said: “It was reported on Tuesday 22nd April that criminal damage had been caused inside commercial premises in the Castle Street area.
“A further report was received on Wednesday 23rd April of a number of young people being involved in anti-social behaviour at licensed premises in Bingham Mall.
“Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing to anyone with any information which might help us to get in touch.
“You can contact us via 101, or submit a report online via our non-emergency reporting form at http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org.”
Chief Inspector Hutchinson continued: “Officers take all such reports seriously, and we recognise the wider impact that this kind of behaviour can have on the local community. We are committed to addressing these issues and supporting those affected.
“Patrols in Bangor and the wider area will continue, and we are also continuing to work alongside partner agencies and local representatives in order to help resolve any issues.
“We would also encourage parents and guardians to have conversations with their young people, and to know where they are to prevent them from engaging in behaviour which could result in injury or a criminal record.
“It is vital we work together to promote responsible behaviour and support a safe environment for everyone.
“Finally, I would remind the public that they should refrain from posting CCTV footage or images of individuals online. Sharing such material, particularly when it involves children, may breach data protection laws and the legal rights of minors, who are subject to special protections under UK legislation.
“The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which regulates data protection, has the authority to issue significant fines for such breaches. Any relevant footage or images should instead be passed directly to police to support investigations and ensure legal compliance.”
