Police in west Belfast are investigating after a 13 year old girl was approached by three unknown teenaged boys, one of whom was carrying a knife.

The girl was walking up the steps in the Stewartstown Road park (Páirc Nua Chollann) across from Colin Connect at around 8.15pm on Thursday 5 December when she observed the trio walking towards her. They began to call out, making derogatory remarks. One of the boys then produced what’s described as a small ‘flick knife’ and held it up towards the victim, who ran away from them at that point.

The suspects are described all wearing black tracksuits and black snoods which covered their faces. All are understood to have been teenagers with local accents.

Anyone who witnessed this encounter or who can help police enquiries is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1522 05/12/24.
