Police in east Belfast are appealing for information in relation to a report of a vehicle on fire in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 26th June.

Sergeant McAleavy said: “Shortly after 2.20am, officers received a report of a car on fire in the Portallo Street area.

“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance, and extinguished the fire.

“There were no reports of any injuries, however the van was left completely destroyed as a result of the incident, which we are treating as deliberate ignition at this time.

“Our investigation is ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who might have any information which could assist us with our enquiries to get in touch via 101, and quote reference number 108 of 26/06/25.”
