Chief Inspector Hutchinson said: “Officers investigating a report of a large altercation on Ballyholme beach on Friday, 11th April, are following several positive lines of enquiry.

“Please be reassured, the investigation remains very much active at this time and we are making good progress.

“Although we are unable to share further details at this stage, I would ask the public to be considerate when posting on social media to avoid spreading misinformation, as it is not only unhelpful but risks escalating tensions further.

“Instead, we encourage anyone with information that could support the investigation – including images and videos – to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1806 11/04/25. You can also make a report online via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

“Thank you to all of those who have come forward with information to date.”
