With the cold weather across the country, driving conditions can be impacted and road users are advised to take extra care.
Please exercise caution when travelling, particularly when driving on untreated roads. Leave extra time for your journey and keep a safe distance between the car in front.
We would appeal for everyone to recognise the dangers of the 'Fatal Five' and of the potentially life-changing consequences they carry.
For drivers this means slowing down and staying within the speed limits. We cannot stress enough that slowing down and sticking to the speed limits can help save lives.
Driving is a huge responsibility, and we all play a part in keeping ourselves and everyone else safe on the roads.
The impact of serious and fatal collisions is colossal with lives changed in an instant, and nothing ever the same again.
Our ask is that everyone adheres to the Fatal Five every single time they get behind the wheel of their vehicle - don’t drink or take drugs and drive; slow down; don’t be careless; always wear your seat belt and never use your mobile phone while driving.
