Police investigating suspected criminality linked to the West Belfast UDA, conducted a search today – seizing cash and a number of other items.

Detective Inspector Maguire said: “The operation in north Belfast involved collaboration between several teams within the Police Service, including our Tactical Support Group (TSG), Dog Unit, Auto Crime Team and Paramilitary Crime Task Force.

“Today, Wednesday 3rd December, officers searched a property – seizing a large sum of cash, a quantity of suspected Class C controlled drugs, tobacco, and electronic devices.

“The items will now undergo forensic examination as our enquiries continue. We would like to thank the local community for their continued support and we will continue to act on the information you provide us.

“Today’s search demonstrates our commitment to tackle all types of criminality linked to paramilitaries.
