Police are at the scene of a security alert in the Workman Avenue area of north Belfast, following a report of a suspicious object in the area.

Workman Avenue is currently closed, with cordons in place on the Springfield Road at the junctions of Springhill Parade and Elswick Street.

Nearby residents have been advised to evacuate and local facilities have been opened to facilitate locals – an update will be provided in due course.
