Local Police in north Belfast conducted 23 house searches over a two week period in March.

Inspector Matthew Adams said: "As a result of these searches, we have seized £90,000 in cash, as well as 6kg of suspected cannabis, a quantity of suspected MDMA tablets and £3,000 of suspected cannabis oil. 

"A further estimated £20,000 worth of cigarettes and alcohol, believed to be due to be sold illegally, were also seized.

Two men and a woman, aged in their 30s were arrested for a number of offences including possession with intent to supply a Class A and B controlled drug, possession of criminal property and evading goods excise duty.

One man, aged 39 and the woman, aged 36, were charged with possession of Class A controlled drug, possession of Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of criminal property, concealing criminal property and evading goods excise duty and VAT.

They were expected to appear before Belfast Magistrate’s Court on March 11th.

The second male, aged 34, was released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.

“These searches, arrests and recovery of drugs demonstrates the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s commitment to protecting our community from drug suppliers and to actively pursuing those involved in drugs criminality.
