Road-users and other members of the public are advised that a planned band competition and parade will take place in Newtownards town centre this evening, Saturday, 18th July between 7.15pm and 10pm. It is anticipated there will be around 1,000 participants, with 41 bands taking part.

The bands will assemble at, and leave from, West Street before travelling along the following route:

West Street - Mary Street - Regent Street - Francis Street - Doctors Lane - Castle Street - Court Street - Old Cross Street - High Street - Mill Street - Gibsons Lane - Regent Street - William Street - West Street.

Due to the number of participants and spectators expected in these areas, local officers will be on the ground to assist with diversions and to enable local access to residents and carers, where required.
