Police in west Belfast received a report at around 11.50pm on Sunday, 9th November of a suspicious object in the Suffolk Road area.  

Officers attended the scene and, during the public safety operation that followed, a number of local residents were evacuated from their homes.

Ammunition Technical Officers (ATOs) subsequently examined the object, which was deemed to be nothing untoward.

Local residents have since returned to their homes and all roads have now reopened.
