Operation Lifesaver

As part of the ongoing commitment to tackle the ‘Fatal Five’ - the five primary causes of fatal and serious collisions, the Police Service of Northern Ireland has launched Operation Lifesaver, a new road safety enforcement campaign focused on speeding. Deploying the road safety vans and the fixed cameras is part of Operation Lifesaver which, quite simply, is about keeping you and your community safer on the roads.

The Fatal Five are speeding, drink or drug driving, careless driving, not wearing a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone while driving. These high-risk behaviours continue to be the leading causes of deaths and serious injuries on our roads.

Graphic promoting Operation Lifesaver, highlighting the Fatal Five. Icons and text read: Do not drink or take drugs. Slow down with a 30 mph sign. Don't get careless with a crash icon. Belt up with a seatbelt icon and Stay off your phone with a mobile phone icon. Header says: Stay alive. Get to know the Fatal Five. PSNI logo and website appear at the bottom, along with social media icons and “report online”.
