The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (SBNI) was established in 2012 following the publication of the Safeguarding Board Act (Northern Ireland) 2011. SBNI is made up of essential organisations from statutory, community, and voluntary sectors. They collaborate with these groups, professions, the broader community, and individuals with a key aim of protecting the wellbeing of children and young people in Northern Ireland.
