Question
If permanent duty restrictions are by name permanent as described, is there a time limit placed on permanent restrictions permanency when made permanent at a multi-disciplinary team meeting or a policy or procedure that clarifies?
Answer
The classification of permanency, used in the context of duty adjustments, is those lasting greater than 12 months. When such adjustments are being put in place there must be agreement and scrutiny by a medical adviser, this typically occurs via the Multi-Disciplinary Team Meeting (MDT) process but can also occur following discussion with the Occupational Health case manager. The MDT process is detailed in the attached MDT meeting Terms of Reference (TOR).
