Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

Question 1
What is the reporting frequency of your data (e.g., monthly, quarterly)?

Answer
In relation to the statistics specifically, provisional PSNI motoring offences statistics
are published on a monthly basis on the last Thursday of each month, while the Road Safety Partnership publishes a finalised annual statistical report in June each year.

  1. The PSNI 2024 motoring offence statistics annual report shows the number of endorsable and non-endorsable Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued by the PSNI by offence type – on (Table 10 - page 22). The link provided below is the where the report can be accessed:

  2. There were a total of 134 fixed penalty notices issued by the Road Safety Partnership following fixed speed camera detections in 2024.
  3. In total, there were 33,912 fixed penalty notices issued by the Road Safety Partnership in 2024 following detections by fixed, mobile and average speed or red light running cameras.

Of the 10,787 FPNs issued by PSNI for motoring offences in 2024, there were a total of 1,276 issued on paper and a total of 9,511 issued via Samsung devices.

A total of 3095 for Failing to Comply cases sent to Public Prosecution Service (PPS) from Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership. 

Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does not hold information in relation to request. Enquires made with the relevant business area in relation to your request failed to locate any records or documents relevant to your request based on the information you have provided. 

We can advise this information is not recorded on the 'fixed penalty' database. 

Accordingly, we have determined that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does not hold the information to which you seek access.
