Police in Derry/Londonderry are investigating a report of a serious assault in the Waterside area on Saturday, 14th February.

It was reported around 1:30am on Saturday morning that a male had been attacked while walking with through the Abbeydale area of the city.

The victim was seriously assaulted by two males, described as being dressed in all black clothing and carrying baton-like objects.

As a result of this, the victim has sustained serious facial injuries including fractures.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this, or who may have relevant video footage, ring doorbell or other to please contact officers on 101 quoting reference 124 14/02/26.
