Police in west Belfast are appealing for information following the report of an assault on Monday, 30th March.
It was reported shortly after 8:30pm that a teenage girl had been assaulted at the junction of Bernagh Drive and Glen Road by a male.
A member of the public intervened and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has subsequently been released on bail pending further police enquiries.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the incident and are particularly keen to speak to the member of the public who intervened.
