Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an aggravated burglary in Bangor on Sunday, 5th October.

Detective Sergeant Westbury said: “We received a report at around 10.35pm on Sunday night of four masked men, some armed with hammers, forcing entry to a house in the Abbot’s Close area.

“Once inside, one of the men then hit a male from inside the property on his head and on his shoulder with a hammer, before pursuing him into the back garden. Unable to locate the male, the four men then ran back through the house and made off down an alleyway in the direction of the Newtownards Road.

“The man from the house subsequently attended hospital for treatment to his injuries.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who might have CCTV, dash-cam or other footage that could assist with our enquiries, to contact detectives in Bangor on 101, quoting reference 1587 of 05/10/25.
