Police are appealing for information and witnesses following an assault in Lisburn this morning, Saturday 13th June.
We received a report shortly after 2am that a man aged in his 30s had been assaulted with a blunt weapon in the Jubilee Avenue area.
As a result of the assault, he sustained a significant injury to his arm and hand, requiring hospital treatment for his injuries.
One man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in custody at this time.
Enquiries are ongoing, and police would encourage anyone who may have witnessed this, who may have any CCTV or doorbell footage which captured this to contact police on 101 quoting reference 137 13/06/2026.
