Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary and car theft in north Belfast.
Detective Sergeant Long said: “We received a report at around 9.10am on Monday, 12th January that a car had been stolen from outside a property in the Donegall Park Avenue area, along with a number of items from the house, including a handbag and keys.
“It is believed the thefts took place sometime between 7.30am and 8.50am that morning and that a man and a woman were involved. The male is described as wearing a puffer jacket with the hood up and a baseball cap, while the woman had dark-coloured hair and was wearing a long jacket.
“During our investigation, the stolen vehicle was identified on the Ravenhill Road, travelling towards the Ormeau Road later on Monday evening and, following a police pursuit, was subsequently located in the Ulsterville Drive area.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area on Monday morning and saw anything suspicious to contact us on the 101 number, quoting reference 295 of 12/01/26.
“We’d also be keen to hear from anyone who might have any CCTV, dash-cam or other footage.
“You can also submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/."
