Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary in Lisburn.

Detective Inspector Keon said: "We received a report at around 11pm on Thursday, 1st January, of a possible ongoing burglary at a property in the Charlestown Hall Drive area in Lisburn.

"Officers attended the scene and, while there were no intruders present at the house when they arrived, it had been ransacked, with a quantity of cash taken. Damage was also caused to the back door of the property.

“It's believed the suspects entered the house at around 7.35pm on Thursday. We also believe this incident is linked to an attempted burglary which took place in the Randalstown Road area of Antrim earlier in the evening.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we would ask that anyone with information, including dash-cam, CCTV or other footage, contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1573 of 01/01/26.

“Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/.”
