The Police Service of Northern Ireland can confirm a man has sadly died following a one-vehicle collision in Bushmills on Saturday, 3rd January.
Chief Inspector Simpson, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Police received a report at around 2.35pm on Saturday afternoon of a one-vehicle collision involving a red Ford Kuga Titanium car in the Carnbore Road area.
“Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene. The driver, a male in his eighties, was taken to hospital, where he sadly passed away a short time afterwards.
“The Carnbore Road was closed for a time at the junction with Haw Road, but has since reopened.
“Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 779 of 03/01/26.”
