Detectives from the Terrorism Investigation Unit, investigating a report that a number of masked and armed men entered licensed premises in Dungiven on Friday, 19th January, have made a third arrest.

A 17-year-old male, was arrested under the Terrorism Act in the Claudy area today, Saturday 23 March. He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station for questioning. 

Detective Inspector Walls said: "Our investigation remains ongoing and, as part of this, we want to speak to anyone who has information on the whereabouts or movement of a white Peugeot Partner van bearing the registration MK62 POA. If you have any information, the number to call is 101 quoting reference number 1421 of 19/01/24 or, make a report online via https://www.psni.police.uk/report or Crimestoppers, which can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

To date, detectives investigating this report have charged two men, aged 58 and 30, with the offences of professing membership of a proscribed organisation, possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. Both men appeared in court at the end of January.
