Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s District Support Team have seized suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs with an estimated street value of around £4000 and a large sum of cash.

Inspector Pearce said: “Officers conducted a proactive search of a property in the City Side area of Derry/Londonderry on Friday 22nd May. As a result, a quantity of drugs cash were seized and taken away for further forensic examinations.

“A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drugs related offences and remains in police custody at this time.

“With the assistance of colleagues from the Belfast Auto Crime Team and Sprucefield Interceptors a second suspect, a man aged 38, was arrested on the M2 on suspicion of drugs related offences and also remains in police custody at this time.

“Our officers will continue to protect communities from the harm of illegal drugs. As a result of this excellent police work, a large quantity of suspected dangerous controlled drugs are now safely off our streets.
