Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have carried out further searches as part of an investigation into violent dissident republican activity.

On Thursday evening, 21st May five men were arrested in the Poleglass area of west Belfast. They were arrested under the Terrorism Act, and all five remain in custody at this time.

Further searches have now been carried out in the Belfast area, as well as Larne and Ballymena. As part of the investigation, a number of vehicles have been seized.
