Over the next 8 weeks the Police Service is inviting feedback on the draft action plan which aims to provide a comprehensive plan designed to address and build a more equitable and inclusive Police Service and improve our response to people from ethnic minority communities.

Launching the consultation Service lead for People and Organisational Development,  Assistant Chief Officer Clare Duffield said ”This plan recognises the impact of race and ethnicity on interactions between the police and the communities we serve. It seeks to foster trust, promote justice, promote good relations, remove barriers, tackle discrimination and create an environment of positive inclusion, regardless of background”.  “I would encourage anyone to consider our draft action plan and provide us with your views”.

The consultation document can be found on the Police Service website and the consultation closes on Monday 16 December 2024.
