Detectives investigating a serious assault in a property in the Duncairn Parade area of north Belfast which occurred on Monday 20 July 2026 have been granted court extensions to question two men.
The extensions, of a further 36 hours, were granted on the morning of Wednesday 22 July in relation to two men, aged 41 and 32, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police are also reiterating their appeal for anyone with information about the assault to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Jenni Rea said: “We are asking anyone who has information about the assault to contact police and assist with our investigation.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have captured footage, including CCTV or mobile phone recordings.
“We believe there are people who have information and would urge them to come forward.
