Detectives at Strand Road investigating a report of a kidnapping in the Northland Terrace area of Derry / Londonderry on October 1, 2025, have charged a man to court.

The man, aged 31, has been charged with a number of offences including kidnap, false imprisonment, attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, burglary and theft.

He is expected to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Friday 27th February.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
