Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses in relation to a report of a fire at a property in east Belfast in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 19th April.

Detective Sergeant Long said: “Shortly after 1.20am, officers received and responded to a report of a fire at a flat in the Finmore Court area.

“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.

“Thankfully, there are no reports of any injuries and no one was inside the property at the time.

“Smoke damage was caused as a result of the incident, which we are treating as arson with intent to endanger life.

“Our enquiries are ongoing this morning, and we are appealing for anyone who might have any information which might assist us to get in touch.

“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 96 of 19/04/26.”
