Detectives in Derry/Londonderry investigating assaults on four police officers and a custody detention officer on Thursday morning, 27th November in the Collon Lane area, have charged a man to court.

The 20-year-old has been charged with three counts of assault on police, two counts of assault on a police designated person, and possession of a Class B controlled drug.

He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday 28th November.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of offences including attempted murder, remains in custody at this time as enquiries continues.
